Where have you been all my life?

Boujour… what, you’re tired of manually entering Leads into Salesforce?

Petit cherie, I can build you a HTML form that can be accessed through your website where someone can enter in their OWN information. And when they press submit, all the information goes directly into Salesforce. Let me show you…

In the Hawaii Literacy project, we had to create two Web to Lead forms. One was for a student application:

I want to Learn!

And the other was for a tutor application:

I want to Teach!

But first, you need to make sure all the fields you put on the form exist on the Lead object. Mwah, mwah, mwah.

Then from Setup, search for “web” and you will see Web to Lead. Make sure Web to Lead is enabled before you Create Web to Lead Form.

Pick whatever fields your heart desires to be on the form (as long as it’s already on the Lead object). Enter the Return URL — this is the page that a user is directed to (most likely your site) after the form is submitted. Then Generate the page —

Including reCAPTCHA is optional, but it reduces SPAM

Poof — the resulting HTML is the Web to Lead form to customize and implement.

Copy aaaaall the text and paste it onto a page under All Sites / Workspace / Builder

When it’s formatted, it will look like this.

See the code below, <br> creates a line space and <hr> creates a line across the page. Handy, non? You’re welcome.

Don’t forget to publish.

Now, when someone submits an application through the Web to Lead form, it auto creates a Lead record — that YOU didn’t have to manually enter…
